What to include in a law firm quote request
- The document list and number of files.
- Readable copies and the required language direction.
- The receiving authority and any certification instructions.
- The filing deadline and time reserved for legal review.
- Any requested formatting, document labels or batch delivery schedule.
Two quotes are only comparable when they cover the same work. Clarify whether certification is included, how larger or complex documents are assessed, and what delivery has been confirmed. Avoid choosing from an advertised unit price alone.
Choose a plan for your document flow
A per-document option can suit occasional work. For a confirmed batch of 20 or more documents, compare the volume option against the same scope. A monthly plan may be useful for recurring work; ask how the plan handles the kinds of documents, volume and deadlines your practice expects.
Keep translation costs visible in the file’s budget. A quoted translation package does not determine whether the underlying evidence is sufficient or whether the receiving authority will accept the case.
Build a consistent review process
Track received documents, translation status, certification and final legal review. Keep sources and translations easy to match. If names or dates differ between records, flag the discrepancy while preserving the source information.
